​Drones...
Llanbedr airfield (EGFD)  The area around Morfa Dyffryn shows as an "increased risk for drone operations" The airfield its self is used for general aviation as well as a test location for civilian and military drones. Great care should be paid if flying a drone, use an app such as "Drone Assist" for advice and to check for current NOTAMS. If that wasn't enough the whole area is also a RAF training area with military aircraft from Texans to A400m's traveling at very low altitude and very high speeds. Keep your drone insight and take extreme care !

Please remember respect peoples privacy, some may be less than impressed with you flying a drone over them on the beach.

Walking distances, In  response to a question I was asked I actuality logged our walk up the beach. From the National park car park Ffordd Benar it is half a mile (800 metres) to the start of the official naturist area which is three quarters of mile long. (1200 metres)

US Special Forces invade Llanbedr !

USAF C130J 12-5757 of 67th Special Operation Squadron RAF Mildenhall dropping paratroopers on to Llanbedr air field to rescue a downed allied aircrew. Once the field was "secure" the C130 returned to pick them up. Presumably this is what they have been doing at 3am in the morning when the noise of a C130 on full revs sounds a hell of a lot louder !
